About this Project

Considered as one of AMA’s flagship multi family designs, the XL is a unique live work building located in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood. Completed in 1999, this mixed use residence has proven to be a timeless design and ideal space for artists and other like minded residents to live, work and play. The design capitalizes on reinforced concrete construction for its 23 “industrial chic” lofts, and 54 one and two bedroom lofts that feature striking 16′ ceilings. Rectilinear lines, glass and use of concrete materials are softened with reverse barrel canopies for a modern appearance with a residential feel that reflects the neighbourhood’s urban and family oriented character.
