About This Project

Willow Beach, Osoyoos, B.C.

Willow Beach is a 70-acre 1200-unit master-planned community situated at the north end of Osoyoos Lake, adjacent to Hwy 97. The project involved a rezoning and an Official Community Plan amendment, allowing the site to be designated as a Comprehensive Development, for its eventual development into a Waterfront Village with a mix of residential, small-scale commercial, park, open space, plus environmental reserve land uses. Design guidelines were produced to govern the character of architecture- as inspired by the surrounding Osoyoos desert climate. With emphasis on open space, parks, and environmental conservation, the site plan was conceived to protect the site’s river system, wetlands, riparian areas and lakeshore beach. Significant buffers were provided and these lands were given back to the Regional District as conservation zones and parks.
